YAMINA Wins Best Animation at the France Africa USA International Film Festival 

Yamina (The African Warrior Princess), an original animated film has been officially selected and screened at the first edition of the France Africa USA International Film Festival, held in Cannes, France from August 7–12, 2025, at the Arcades Cinema. The groundbreaking film not only captivated audiences but was also honored with the Best Animation Award, a major recognition of its cultural impact, storytelling, and artistic excellence.

YAMINA Wins Best Animation at the Black Star International Film Festival in Ghana

Accra, Ghana – Yamina, the animated film produced by MAKU Productions, has been awarded Best Animation at the 2025 Black Star International Film Festival (BSIFF). The award recognizes the film’s outstanding storytelling, animation quality, and cultural significance. This achievement marks an important milestone for the production team and highlights the growing impact of African animation on the global stage.

YAMINA Makes Powerful Caribbean Premiere In Trinidad & Tobago

 
The highly anticipated animated film YAMINA (The African Warrior Princess) made its Caribbean premiere at the 24th Edition of the Anime Caribe Animation Festival, receiving an overwhelmingly positive response from audiences, students, and industry professionals across Trinidad & Tobago.
 
The film’s Executive Director and Co-Producer, Mr. Gabriel Odartei, attended the festival for a week of screenings, discussions, media engagements, and youth outreach.

YAMINA Movie makes U.S. premiere at 34th Pan African Film Festival

The animated film YAMINA by Ghanaian-Canadian filmmaker Gabriel Odartei, celebrated its American premiere at the 34th Annual Pan African Film Festival (PAFF), held in celebration of Black History Month from February 16–22, 2026, at the Culver Theatre and Cinemark Baldwin Hills Crenshaw.

As part of PAFF’s impactful StudentFest program, YAMINA was screened at the Cinemark Theatre in Baldwin Hills, welcoming students and seniors from the community for a special interactive experience with the filmmakers. The program created a meaningful space for dialogue, inspiration, and cultural exchange.
